Laser-cut wood earrings are one of the types of jewellery products Goleza Designers Ltd produces in Uganda. Our laser-cut jewellery is so unique in design and looks attractive to everyone. We make them from local wood and are of the quality that matches international standards. Throughout 2016, we\u2019ve been researching, designing and testing these laser-cut wood earrings. We are proud to mention that we are now ready to produce them for the market.<\/p>\n
Why Did We Venture Into Making Laser-Cut Wood Earrings?<\/h2>\nValue addition<\/h3>\n
First, we wanted to add value to our local products, specifically wood. We had two native trees on our land, which we sold. However, the amount of money we got from them was so little for such trees that had lived for over 50 years. And having planted trees for commercial purposes, we thought of a way of maximising profits from them. Producing wood earrings would undoubtedly increase the value of our planted trees. You can also imagine how many ornaments one can get from a single medium-sized tree.<\/p>\n

Secondly, when we ventured into laser engraving, we knew several other businesses were offering similar engraving services. We, therefore, focused on creating excellent unique products. Uniqueness<\/a> is what we focus on in our laser engraving business. We always look for something different from what people commonly see on the market. With our laser-cut wood earrings, we are quite sure that they are unique in the Ugandan market and elsewhere in the world.<\/p>\n All the jewellery shops in Uganda are full of imported jewellery that looks the same in design. But our laser-cut wood earrings are different. Besides, they are stylish, beautiful and attractive. They are suitable for all occasions.<\/p>\n Laser-cut Wood Earrings<\/p><\/div>\n Thirdly, we have many trees in Uganda. And more people are getting into the tree growing business. As already said, we’ve got the trees that we have grown to provide raw materials for our engraving business. We, therefore, considered developing products with sustainable resources in Uganda. Besides, our laser-cut wood earrings<\/strong> are eco-friendly.<\/p>\n Of course, it goes without mentioning that we are in business to make money. So we wanted a product that is cost-effective with high-profit returns. Indeed, our laser-cut wood earrings projects use fewer materials. If we buy a tree, we can produce thousands of earrings. The only expenditure is on power consumption and labour.<\/p>\n Laser-cut wood earrings offer a broad scope of creativity. It’s only our imagination that limits us. It is suitable for our business because we have a chance to add new designs with\u00a0time. Secondly, we can create custom earrings with a client\u2019s input.<\/p>\n Lastly, we wanted to promote the creatures around us in Uganda. Uganda has a lot of animals, birds and much more, which we try to market through\u00a0the earrings\u00a0we make. When foreigners come to Uganda and buy, say, an ornament of an animal they have seen, it helps to promote what we have.<\/p>\n We created over 300 different designs, specifically for making wooden earrings. Our wood earring designs<\/a> fall into the following categories:<\/p>\n Wood Heart Earrings<\/p><\/div>\n We are aware that metal allergies are a severe problem with people having pierced ears<\/a>. Owing to this fact, we use earring wires that DO NOT contain NICKEL. We use NICKEL-FREE hooks. And these are from metals like aluminium, brass and silver, which we import by ourselves from the USA. For ladies with non-pierced earrings, we also have clip-on laser-cut wood earrings.<\/p>\n Not every wood is suitable for making earrings. We know that certain wood species have health concerns like allergies. Therefore, they are not ideal for wearability purposes. We have taken the trouble only to use wood that does not cause harmful responses to human beings. \u00a0This wood is free from compounds that cause severe skin irritants and allergies.
